![]() Walter E. Derryberry, MD was born in Martin, Tennessee and grew up in Cookeville. He graduated from Tennessee Tech and the University of Tennessee Medical School in 1959. His internship was done at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then served with the Cancer Control Division of the United States Public Health Service. He did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was elected fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1974 |
![]() Harry L. Stuber, MD was born in New York City, New York. He graduated from Hamilton College, George Washington University and the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio (M.D. 1972) He did is internship and residency at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He chose Cookeville for its temperate climate and outdoor recreation. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was elected fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1980. |
![]() James C. Gray, MD was born in Atlanta and attended school in Conyers, Georgia. He received a B.S. degree in Biology from Emory University in 1972 and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1976. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honorary Society. he completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was elected fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1983. |
![]() Michael S. Pippin, MD was born and raised in Cookeville. He graduated from Tennessee Tech with highest honors and a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1976. He attended medical school at the University of TN Medical Unit in Memphis where he received the Scholastic Achievement Award for his academic ranking in the top 15%. He completed his internship and residency there in 1984. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. |
![]() Bart E. Geer, D.O. was born and raised in Sparta, TN and lived in Cookeville while attending Tennessee Tech University. He graduated in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Psychology and then attended the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO where in 1992, he graduated and received his medical degree. The following year. Dr. Geer practiced medicine at Earlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN in the Rotating/Transitional Year Internship Program of the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine (Chattanooga Unit). From 1993 to 1997, Dr. Geer joined the Obstetrics and Gynecology Internship Program at Earlanger and, during his final year there, he served as Chief Resident. Since 1989, Dr. Geer has also held the rank of Captain in the Medical Corps of the Army National Guard Reserves. (He is now inactive.) He was a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society in college and Sigma Sigma Phy Honor Society in Medical shcool. He is currently a member of the TN Osteopathic Medical Association and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. As a "D.O." Dr. Geer's medical training is identical to that of physicians who hold the "M.D." designation, but osteopathic medicine requires an additional 400 hours of training in osteopathic, techniques. Dr. Geer provides complete gynecological and obstetric care for patients in their childbearing years through menopause. |
![]() Mrs. Leona Wagner, R.N.C., B.S., Nurse-Midwife was born and raised in a small rural community in western New York state. She attended St. Joseph's College in North Windham, Maine, where she received her B.S. degree in Health Care Administration. She received her Diploma of Nursing at Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Among her broad professional nursing positions, Mrs. Wagner was Head Nurse of Obstetrics at the WCA Hospital of Jamestown, New York, and, more recently, Head Nurse of Obstetrics at Cookeville General Hospital. She received her midwifery education at the Frontier Graduate School of Midwifery. She is completing work on her Masters Degree from Case Western Reserve University. Since joining OB-GYN Associates as staff Certified Nurse-Midwife, she is offering well-women exams as well as complete obstetrical care, including vaginal delivery.
