Why
Do You Need An Extended Warranty?
Limited Manufacturer's
Warranty
Your new equipment's
limited warranty represents our confidence in the quality of our comfort
systems. It is one of the best limited warranty programs in the industry.
But, like all good things, it too will come to an end.
Mechanical Components
Over the years, American
Standard products have made our name, quite literally, a fixture in American
Homes. American Standard quality air conditioning and heating products
and accessories carry that heritage of durability. However, any mechanical
component is subject to failure.
Peace of Mind
When you purchase an
American Standard Extended Warranty agreement, you don't have to worry
about unplanned failures. Repair bills will be a thing of the past. For
the term of your agreement - American Standard pays the bills.
Assurance of Commitment
When you purchase your
agreement, you are entering into an agreement with American Standard
- the manufacturer of your equipment. All service work will be done by
professional servicing dealers who are trained in current equipment and
service techniques.
Hedge Against Inflation
Today a single service
call to repair a minor part can easily cost $100.00 or more. Imagine what
these costs will be in years to come. With the American Standard Extended
Warranty, you will know your cost for total comfort up to 10 years in
advance.

What does the American
Standard Extended Warranty Exclude?
Any routine maintenance.
However, if during the performance of routine maintenance, a component
is found to be faulty, and in the reasonable judgment of the Servicer,
the component is expected to fail and should be replaced, the component
could be covered as well as the labor to replace the component depending
on the agreement coverage. In no case will travel time be covered.
Air filters, drain lines,
condensate pumps, refrigerant lines, ducts, electrical wiring external
of the equipment, or any other equipment not listed as a covered item on
the Extended Warranty Agreement.
Repairs to correct failures
or malfunctions that are not considered manufacturing defects, such as
damage or malfunctions resulting from fire, water, storms, earthquake,
faulty power supply, theft, riot, misuse, abuse, or the improper selection,
installation, or application of the equipment.
[American
Standard requires that routine maintenance be performed as recommended
in the owner’s manual to insure proper performance of the equipment. Repairs
that are required due to lack of routine maintenance are not covered by
the American Standard Extended Warranty Agreement. Your dealer can provide
routine maintenance which not only satisfies this condition of your Extended
Warranty, but assures peak efficiency and safe operation of your equipment.]
Any failure or malfunction
caused by the failure of the Equipment Owner to perform preventative maintenance
as recommended by the manufacturer.
Repairs to alter the equipment
to meet changes in Federal, state, or local codes or regulations.
Premium labor charges charged
by the servicer for repairs which are required during other than normal
working hours.
Any freight on parts.
Welding supplies, shop
rags, screws, bolts and nuts, or other miscellaneous items that could be
considered "expendable items".
Any work performed by any
servicer not approved by American Standard's Extended Warranty Department.
Failures or malfunctions
on equipment installed in establishments with corrosive atmospheres such
as dry cleaners, beauty shops, printing facilities, etc.
Failures or malfunctions
on compressor bearing equipment in which the age of the equipment exceeds
ten (10) years of age.
What is Covered:
As a rule of thumb ...
any failure of an internal component on a covered piece of equipment is
covered, unless it fails due to neglect, failure of the Equipment Owner
to perform preventive maintenance, or an act of God. For more information,
