There are as many false statements made about nutrition as there are broken political promises. To understand today’s nutrition, you need to read and understand the ingredients listed on the label and their effects. If you prefer an easier method then start with the following:
1. Avoid refined sugars and refined grains. (they trigger fat-making hormones)
2. Avoid genetically modified foods (your body may not be able to digest them)
3. Avoid foods with MSG (AKA: monosodium glutamate, modified food starch, hydrolyzed protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, calcium caseinate, sodium caseinate, yeast extract, yeast food, autolyzed yeast, glutamate, glutamic acid, vegetable protein, hydrolyzed corn gluten, textured protein, gelatin, natural flavorings, hydrolyzed amino acids, carrageenan, , pea protein, whey protein, and corn protein). Most live virus vaccines contain MSG. MSG use is associated with chronic migraine headaches and fibromyalgia.
4. Avoid starchy vegetables, such as French Fries.
5. Avoid breads, pasta, cereal, crackers, biscuits, waffles, muffins, pancakes, rice cakes, donuts. These all readily turn into sugar
6. Avoid drinking wine at night. Even a little will block fat-burning for days.
7. Use salad dressings sparingly. Read the labels and avoid high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, sugar cane, and food colorings.
8. Eat fruits at night/evening, except apples, which can be eaten anytime. Avoid or minimize eating bananas, dates, figs, raisins, canned fruit, dried fruits, mangoes, and cherries as they have extra sugar content.
Did you know that:
1. Chickens, turkeys, cattle, and fish are given hormones (esp. Estrogen) to make them grow faster. (Estrogen can inhibit/block thyroid and liver function).
2. Your food is heavily sprayed with pesticides and insecticides, which have the ability to act as hormones. We call these Endocrine disruptors (pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, plastics, heavy metals, and solvents), which can make your glands sick.
3. When certain glands get sick, the hormones they produce can turn muscle protein into sugar as fuel, leaving you fat, flabby, stressed, and weak.
Aspartame
1. Breaks down in the stomach and intestines into three parts: aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol.
2. Methanol is a poisonous liquid used by the Egyptians as embalming fluid.
3. Methanol breaks down into formaldehyde which breaks down into formic acid and is extremely toxic, especially to fetal tissues (unborn babies)
4. Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, lack of coordination, confusion, and drowsiness.
5. Laboratory studies linked aspartame use with increased occurrence of lymphomas and leukemias.
6. Aspartame is also known as Nutrasweet and Equal
Things you can do to improve your nutrition:
1. Eat cruciferous vegetables (bok choy, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collard greens, kale, radishes, and turnips). Cruciferous vegetable are anti-estrogen and anti-toxin. Remember that Estrogen can inhibit Thyroid function. Tomatoes are also beneficial. (Best if raw or lightly steamed).
2. Trim fat from meat, and skin from poultry and fish.
3. Wash vegetables in mixture of water and vinegar (1/3 cup apple cider vinegar to 1 gallon of water)
4. Break off and discard the outer leaves of leafy vegetables.
5. Commercial fish has less hormone disrupting chemicals than commercial beef
6. Eat organic foods when possible. (foods grown/produced without the use of chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides)
Facts about Blood Sugar
1. Skipping meals trigger low blood sugar levels
2. Letting yourself get hungry between meals drops blood sugar levels
3. Eating a high-carbohydrate breakfast creates low blood sugar levels and triggers cravings late afternoon and evening
4. Overeating triggers high blood sugar levels and insulin response
Hormone Health
1. Eat more cruciferous vegetables or take cruciferous vegetable supplements with meals
2. Apply Sugar-Busters concept to reduce/eliminate sugar in your diet.
3. Do the right exercise for your body type
4. Get the right amount of sleep/rest (7 or more hours), and at the right time
5. Eliminate Endocrine disrupters by consuming only organic foods and fluids.
Fat-Burning Facts
1. In the presence of Insulin – you will not be able to burn fat.
2. Estrogen is found in many commercially grown fats and creates “belly fat” in the area below the navel/belly button and the hips.
3. Cortisol is a hormone created by stress. It takes muscle proteins and turns them into fat around the stomach by forcing insulin to deal with excess sugar in the bloodstream.
4. Adrenaline is the main hormone that releases fat from the fat cells.
5. Thyroid hormones control the speed of your metabolism
6. Testosterone is stimulated by exercise and assist in giving you lean muscles
7. Growth hormone is a fat-burning, lean muscle building hormone. It is stimulated by protein and intense exercise.
8. Insulin-like growth factor: a hormone that releases stored sugar and fat.
9. Glucagon is a hormone that raises blood sugar by tapping fat reserves. It helps control the blood sugar between meals. It si stimulated by dietary protein and intense exercise
